Whether you’re supporting clients in diabetes or epilepsy management, weight loss, or ketogenic diet goals, you’re likely neck-deep in net carbs calculations. It feels great to provide each client with personalized macro-based nutrition plans that help them hit their targets and stay on track. But it also takes a lot of time to search for just the right recipes and then analyze net carbs. (Seriously, what’s with all the math?)

On the surface, net carbs are easy enough to calculate – you simply subtract grams of fiber from the total carbs per serving. But when you’re doing the math across comprehensive meal plans for a long list of clients, it quickly adds up to a lot of calculations and tinkering with recipes to get the balance just right.

Give your calculator a rest

Now there’s an easy way to find the perfect low-net-carb recipes for every client. Crafting delicious ketogenic or diabetes-friendly plans is so much simpler with That Clean Life now doing the macronutrient calculations for you. In just four clicks, you can start displaying net carbs in the nutrition profile of all 7,000+ That Clean Life recipes. Here’s how:

First, go into your profile. Then, select the Preferences tab and scroll to the Nutrition section. Check the box beside “Net Carbs” and save your preferences.

That’s it – you’re done!

Analyze net carbs at a glance

With the Net Carbs listing turned on, every time you look at the nutritional breakdown of a recipe, you’ll see a net carbs value displayed. No more manually subtracting the fiber from the carbs to understand if a recipe will meet your client’s needs.

Use filters to further customize

There’s no need to spend hours hunting through pages of recipes to find just the right mix. That Clean Life has always allowed you to filter recipes by criteria like time, ingredients, and dietary tags. Now you can also filter by net carbs.

For example, if you only want to see recipes that offer fewer than 15 g of net carbs, you use the handy built-in slider to specify the amount in the nutrition filter. You will then be served a wide array of recipes that meet your criteria.

You can further refine your recipe search results by taking advantage of over 100 filters in the platform:

  • Filter results by using sliders to adjust additional criteria, including calories, other macronutrients, and vitamins/minerals.
  • Display recipes that more precisely meet client preferences and needs by adding dietary tags, including cultural cuisine, “free-from” tags, meal type (e.g., breakfast, lunch, dinner), cooking method (e.g., one-pan meals, pressure cooker), and more.

Create crave-worthy low-carb meal plans in minutes

Use the results of your filtering to create beautifully personalized meal plans for every client seeking low-carb dietary options.

As with all meal plans generated in That Clean Life, grocery lists for your keto- and diabetic-friendly meal plans will automatically update as you add, remove, and edit recipes.

If detailed meal plans aren’t part of your offering – no problem. You can still use That Clean Life to curate recipe collections to share with clients to help support their meal prep goals. Bonus: you’ll free them from searching for recipes and performing their own tedious net carb calculations.

Take the math out of meal planning

All those little net carb calculations you do for clients can quickly add up to a big pile of wasted time. Make 2025 the year you say “goodbye” to manual calculations and “hello” to smarter nutrition planning with the new Net Carbs feature in That Clean Life.

Where do the net carb calculations come from?

Net carbs are calculated by subtracting fiber from the total carbs. That Clean Life automatically performs the calculation for you and displays it with each recipe.

Sugar alcohols are not part of the net carbs calculation due to limitations with the USDA Food Composition Database's nutrition information on sugar alcohols in processed foods.

Which That Clean Life plans offer the net carbs feature?

The feature is only available in our Plus plan.
