If good intentions resolved nutrition issues, we’d all be walking around feeling balanced, satiated, and energized. In reality, it requires a lot of commitment to stick to even the most carefully crafted meal plan.
As a nutrition professional, you know this struggle all too well.
You use your expertise to craft personalized, strategic meal plans for a client.
The client is super excited…but then the reality of having to shop for a bunch of unfamiliar ingredients kicks in. Excitement is replaced with overwhelm, procrastination, or just plain forgetting.
Best intentions become overshadowed by the powerful pull of those comfortable, old shopping and meal prep habits.
Without the right ingredients on hand, client success is easily torpedoed, taking engagement down with it.
You can park this Struggle Bus for good with an easy solution for boosting client adherence and outcomes.
Deliver results—and groceries!
Instacart is now integrated with That Clean Life for those clients who want to eliminate the hassle of grocery shopping.
With just a few clicks, any client can securely import meal plan grocery lists directly into Instacart and customize their order. It’s a simple, stress-free way to get all the fresh and critical ingredients delivered directly to their door so they can follow through on their personalized meal plan.
Let’s take a peek at how easy it is to take advantage of this integration.
Offer solutions without the extra steps
Once you create a meal plan in That Clean Life, you can get it in front of a client by toggling on sharing. This action automatically creates a share link for easy copy and paste.

Before sharing the link, you can turn on specific permissions, such as Allow Edits, Imports, and Exports, and include Health Insights and Nutrition Facts.
Once you’re happy with the permissions, hit the Copy Link button and paste into your EHR or email to share with your client.
When the client loads the shared link it will look like what you see below. If the client clicks the List option, they can access the detailed grocery list associated with this meal plan. Note that volumes in the grocery list are determined by the status of recipes in the Plan view.

From here, a client can tap into the Instacart integration to have groceries conveniently delivered to their door. (If they prefer to do their own grocery shopping, no problem: Instacart is a convenient option, not a mandatory step.)
Client convenience, delivered
The Shop button appears just below the Plan and List options in the interface. Once clicked, a window pops up to order through Instacart.

Once a client clicks “Order groceries for delivery or pickup today,” they can select their country and indicate their preferred grocery brands. Brands can also remain blank.

From here, clicking “Shop Plan” automatically generates an Instacart link to copy and paste into a browser.

This action automatically loads the shopping list generated in That Clean Life into Instacart with all items selected. Clients choose their supermarket before taking a closer look at their detailed grocery list.
Items in the cart will map directly to the grocery list from the meal plan.
- A summary at the top shows how many total items are in the cart.
- For any item on the list, your client can click Show Alternatives to see a list of options to swap with the pre-populated items. For example, they might prefer to purchase bottled lemon juice instead of fresh lemon.
- Your client can also uncheck items they want to remove from the cart. For example, they may already have some of the pantry staples or spices listed. The number of items in the cart will automatically adjust to reflect any changes made.
Once your client is ready to check out, they simply click the “add items to cart” button and continue the checkout process.
Take the guesswork out of meal plan adherence
It’s easy for clients to believe a personalized menu plan will make it easy to crush nutrition goals. That crushing-it vibe can quickly shift to crash-and-burn when life gets busy, and clients don’t have the time or energy to grocery shop for the items that will bring your meal plans to life.
You could spend time and energy encouraging clients to scale the grocery shopping barrier. Or you could remove it completely by tapping into the integration between That Clean Life and Instacart. It’s a low-effort solution that clears the way for high-impact client success rates.
