Free talks are legit magic for your nutrition business. In just 30 minutes you can transform total strangers into flaming hot leads who are hanging off your every word and begging to become paying clients. No wand or dorky hat required!
But how do you book free talks in your community?
Today, we're going to walk you through the three steps to pitching and booking free talks that will put you in front of your ideal clients. We're even giving you an incredible email template that you can use to start reaching out right away, so no excuses! Get ready to take action.
Step 1: Pick a Topic & Title For Your Free Talk
First, choose a topic for your free talk. You want this to be a topic that you’re not only passionate about, but also one that would appeal to your ideal clients.
Once you know the topic, you can craft a powerful title for your free talk. The title should clearly communicate the topic you will be covering, and the value it provides. Here are some examples:

Step 2: Pick a Venue
Once you’ve chosen a topic, it’s time to scout out the perfect venue. Local businesses make the best venues for free talks because you’ll be able to connect with their customer base.
Select businesses that attract your ideal clients. For example, if you’re giving a talk related to fitness, you might want to deliver it at a local gym, yoga studio, or activewear shop.
If you know that the venue has hosted events in the past, that’s a great sign! But if not, don’t worry because you can forge the way.
Take Action: Make a list of at least five potential venues for your talk.
Step 3: Reach Out & Pitch Your Talk
Once you know what you’d like to talk about and have an idea of where you’d like to deliver the talk, it’s time to pitch your idea to the potential venues. This does not have to be stressful or time-consuming. It’s as easy as sending off a simple email to the venue, which highlights the benefits of your free talk to the business and their customers.
Not sure what to say in this email? We've created you an email template that you can use to start pitching your free talk today. Just copy, paste, and customize the text to include personal details related to yourself and the business you are approaching.

Once a venue has accepted, it’s time to get into creation mode and fully outline your free talk. That’s right. You don’t need to work out the details until after a venue has accepted and the date has been set. This way, if your topic doesn't resonate or the venue asks you to talk about something else, you won't have wasted any time.
