Ever wonder what the nutrition experts add to their meal plan? Us too! That's why we asked five of our favorite nutritionists about the one thing we will find on their meal plan every week, so that you can meal plan like a nutritionist too!
1. Laura Wood, Holistic Nutritionist
Laura Wood is a mom of two, a Holistic Nutritionist and founder of the Lavish Method, where she teaches women who want to lose fat a simple way of eating that doesn't involve giving up wine or chocolate.
We asked Laura what we would find on her meal plan every week. Her answer? Scrambled eggs with avocado, greens and sauerkraut. And here's why:
"It's super quick, easy and delicious with a ton of benefits!"
- The eggs provide 'perfect' protein plus brain-boosting nutrients like choline.
- The avocado is full of healthy fat
- The greens provide fiber plus a TON of other nutrients
- The sauerkraut introduces all that important good bacteria to keep your gut healthy and happy.
And the best part? She can make it in under 10 minutes, it's delicious and keeps her full for hours with balanced blood sugar and less cravings later on.

2. Carley Nadine, Certified Nutritionist
Carley Nadine is a Certified Nutritionist based in Toronto and the one thing you will find on her meal plan every week this season is cabbage!
"Spring is the perfect time to support the liver, and eating cabbage stimulates liver enzymes that help flush out toxins."
Carley loves cabbage because this cruciferous vegetable is packed with minerals and vitamins such as Vitamin C, Vitamin K, magnesium and folate. It is also high in fiber which is important for maintaining a healthy digestive tract.
Some of Carley's favorite ways to eat cabbage are kimchi, rainbow coleslaw and sauerkraut.

3. Tracy Houle, Certified Holistic Nutritional Consultant
Tracy Houle is a Nutritionist, chocoholic and superhero fan. She's a mom to three, wife to one, crazy about all four, and food!
The one thing you will find on Tracy's meal plan is, believe it or not, a dessert!
"I add a clean dessert to my meal plan every week, sometimes two. With three kids, they are always looking for something sweet and since they already eat differently than most of their peers, I don’t mind obliging."
Tracy loves that the experience her kids are having at home with “dessert” is whole foods-based, completely natural, and usually pretty low in sugar compared to a packaged dessert you would pick up in the grocery store. She says it is a serious victory as a parent!

4. Mary Vance, Holistic Nutritionist
Mary Vance is a Holistic Nutritionist specializing in women's health and digestive wellness. The one thing you will find on her meal plan every week is cauliflower, whether its roasted, riced or mashed
"Cauliflower is a great source of indole-3 carbinol, a compound that may prevent cancer, supports liver detox and helps the body metabolize excess estrogens (as do all cruciferous veggies)."

5. Heather Allen
Heather Allen is a Holistic Nutritionist and real food advocate. The one thing you will always find on her weekly meal plan is a sauce.
"I always whip up a jar of garlic tahini sauce, pesto or an Asian-inspired dressing to have on hand, because sometimes life throws you a curveball, and that recipe you had planned on making mid-week, may not happen."
Heather explains that having a sauce on hand to toss on some vegetables or to jazz up boring leftovers is a lifesaver because, well, everything tastes better with some awesome sauce!
