As a wellness entrepreneur it can be hard to know where to invest your time and money. I get it, because I’ve been there. I’m a full-time clinical nutritionist in a big city, where the market is completely saturated.
Believe me, I’m no stranger to the hustle.
So today, I’m going to share some rock-solid strategies for growing your practice quickly, and how I used That Clean Life for Business to do it myself. These strategies are not scripted by a sales team. I have actually used That Clean Life for Business to make massive strides in my practice and I’m going to tell you how.
1. Offering Meal Planning as a Service
How much time do you spend putting together meal plans, including fighting with text documents to make them look sleek, clean and professional? While simple tables embedded in a word document may have cut it in school, providing top-level services means giving clients a polished, gorgeous plan. A plan they are actually excited to follow.
Just like we eat first with our eyes, the design and layout of your client's plan will give them a first impression of quality. Provide a premium product, and your clients will happily pay a premium price for it.
That Clean Life comes with hundreds of healthy recipes and new recipes are added weekly. If you have your own hallmark recipes, adding them is simple, and you only have to do it once. You can also edit and tweak recipes based on client needs.
Creating a meal plan using That Clean Life for Business is as simple as selecting meals you want your client to eat and adding them to the plan. Based on what you add to the meal plan, the grocery list is automatically generated. You can then export the plan, itemized grocery list and recipes as a single, professional PDF branded with your logo to send to your client.
So, how has this helped me grow my business? That Clean Life for Business has allowed me to offer meal planning in a much more efficient way. Instead of spending hours manually creating meal plans, I can now devote that time to organizing my business, implementing strategies to get more clients in my office, and increasing the number of appointments I book in a day without feeling overwhelmed.
2. Recipe E-Books
Do you scour the internet for healthy recipes to provide as resources to your clients? Or do you photocopy pages from cookbooks? I know I used to, and let’s be real here: sending your client home with a stack of printouts from food blogs isn’t exactly the most impressive take-away.
Detailed meal plans aren’t necessary for every single client. Some individuals just need a little healthy-eating inspiration. That Clean Life for Business makes it incredibly simple to create gorgeous PDF recipe booklets with consistent formatting, featuring your logo. These booklets make the perfect, customized resource that you can print or email to your client to provide even more value.
To export a recipe book, just add recipes to a meal plan and de-select the Plan and List boxes. You also have the option to include Notes, Nutrition info and a cover page with your logo if you desire. For more on this, see here.
By providing beautiful and delicious recipes to clients, featuring my logo I was able to benefit from word-of-mouth referrals. Clients love to share recipes with friends and family, so by including my logo on all recipes provided to clients, it was like having happy customers handing out my business cards.
3. Lead Magnet Creation
The only way that you have guaranteed communication with your community is via direct email. Hence, the importance of building an email list.
The best way to do this is through an opt-in or lead magnet. Potential clients will happily provide their email address if you are using it to send them something they find valuable, like your 10 High Protein Breakfast Recipes or 7-Day Detox Meal Plan e-book. (You know, the one you created using point #2.)
My business is primarily brick-and mortar, but this strategy has still been extremely helpful. During presentations at events, I ask the crowd to submit their emails in return for a free one week meal plan.
With the incentive, more people submitted their emails and I was able to offer value when following-up with them. Plus, it gives me an excuse to check-in with them and ask if they liked the recipes. This is a great way to build trust and relationships. Plus, creating the resource using That Clean Life for Business is so easy!
4. Group Challenges and Nutrition Programs
Now that you have created some beautiful meal plans, and grown your email list, it’s time to seriously multiply your earning power.
Running group challenges and programs has added more income to my practice than any other strategy. It’s highly scalable since the workload doesn’t vary too much whether you have 5 people or 50 people in the program.
It’s as simple as this:
Step 1: Create your challenge content (anything from a 7-Day Detox Challenge, to a 12-Week Weight Loss Program) using That Clean Life for Business meal planning platform.
Step 2: Set-up a private Facebook group for members.
Step 3: Set a price. The benefit of group programs is participants can pay only a fraction of the cost of working one-on-one with you. This may also get the attention of those who have been resistant to investing more in a personalized plan.
Step 4: Get sign-ups! Send email announcements of the program to your list, share it on all your social media platforms and get your friends and family talking! Don't forget to add members to the Facebook group and engage with them regularly.
I followed the 4 steps outlined above to run my first group program online. It went so well that I have been launching a new program every 2 months since then. Each time enrollment has increased from the previous program.
Again, this strategy has had the biggest influence on my business growth since I can continue to see one-on-one clients while my group programs run online.
5. Supporting Special Diets
You already know the time it takes to sort through recipes when creating meal plans for specific conditions or allergies. Finding recipes for special diets, like Anti-Candida, Low FODMAP, or Autoimmune Paleo can be way too time consuming.
To help make this process easier That Clean Life for Business allows you to search the recipe database based on special diets including Anti-Candida, Low FODMAP, Autoimmune Paleo, Vegan/Vegetarian, Paleo, Egg-Free, Nut-Free, Elimination Diet, Ketogenic, Gluten-Free and Nightshade-Free.
Even better, as a That Clean Life for Business member, you have access to exclusive pre-made programs. So, when you have a new client who needs a Low FODMAP diet, there is a pre-made 7-Day Low FODMAP plan ready to go, or to use as a starting point since all programs can be modified according to your clients unique needs.
Fun fact: People with specific conditions or allergies tend to talk to other people with the same condition/allergies. This results in a lot of word-of-mouth advertising, and referrals when you are able to help someone. Think of a happy client telling everyone in their IBS support group about the amazing Low FODMAP meal plan you provided!
I organized a series of condition-specific educational workshops for Candida, Autoimmunity, and IBS. I use the pre-made meal plans as a valuable resource for attendees. Participants pay a small fee for the workshop, during which I position myself as an expert and offer valuable solutions. After receiving the resources, many of them want to see me for individualized nutrition plans, or mention me to a friend who books a consultation.
Using That Clean Life for Business has allowed me to grow my business exponentially. There is no way I could have implemented all of these powerful strategies without the help of the platform.
From one nutritionist to another, if you are serious about taking your practice to the next level and multiplying your earning power, That Clean Life for Business is so worth it.
