It seems that everyone has a different idea of what healthy eating should look like. Girls on Instagram are eating nothing but fruit, a skinny old man on Netflix says meat causes cancer, and that dude at your gym swears carbs are the devil.
It can be pretty extreme.
But there’s one thing that everyone from vegans to paleo folks can agree on: Eat. More. Veggies.
When you’re trying to gobble down six (or more) servings per day, keeping your vegetables exciting and delicious is key.
Want to know my secret? Fun seasoning blends.
To avoid some of the sketchy ingredients in store-bought blends (MSG?! Oh hell no!) I like to visit a bulk store then mix my own. Each seasoning blend will keep for at least two months when stored in an airtight container.
Here are my 5 favorite blends, and how I like to use them.
Taco Seasoning
I love to toss cauliflower in olive oil and this DIY taco seasoning, then roast it up for a creative meat-free taco filling.

- ¼ cup chili powder
- 2 tablespoons ground cumin
- 1 tablespoon fine sea salt
- 2 teaspoons paprika
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
Greek Seasoning
This one is perfect for roasting veggies like zucchini, red onion, peppers, and eggplant. Then, if you really want to take things up a notch, drizzle your roasted Greek-seasoned veggies with a lemon tahini sauce.

- ¼ cup dried oregano
- 3 tablespoons dried thyme
- 2 tablespoons fine sea salt
- 1 ½ tablespoons dried basil
- 1 ½ tablespoons dried onion flakes
- 2 teaspoons dried minced garlic
Cajun Seasoning
This seasoning is an epic way to spice up your sweet potato fries.

- 2 tablespoons cayenne pepper
- 2 tablespoons paprika
- 2 tablespoons garlic powder
- 2 tablespoons fine sea salt
- 1 tablespoon dried oregano
- 1 tablespoon dried rosemary
- 1 tablespoon onion powder
Montreal Steak Spice
This one is my all-time fave! Use on roasted potatoes, grilled veggies, and even sprinkled over broccoli.

- 2 tablespoons sea salt
- 2 tablespoons cracked black pepper
- 1 tablespoon dried minced garlic
- 1 tablespoon dried onion
- 1 tablespoon crushed coriander
- 1 tablespoon red pepper flakes
- 1 tablespoon paprika
Harissa Seasoning
This blend seriously takes roasted eggplant and chickpeas to another dimension.

- 2 tablespoons smoked paprika
- 1 tablespoon red pepper flakes
- 1 tablespoon coriander seeds
- 1 tablespoon cumin seeds
- 1 tablespoon caraway seeds
- 1 tablespoon fine sea salt
- 1 tablespoon fennel seeds
- 2 teaspoons garlic powder
- ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
Mix up these blends and say goodbye to the days where loading your plate with produce feels boring. Get creative and let delicious veggies ensue.
